When he was just six years old, Warren Buffet entered the business world selling products to other children in his grandfather’s grocery store. When he managed to have a little money he decided to invest it and buy his first shares, so at eleven years old he owned three shares of Cities Service Preferred.
These actions were a great lesson for the young man, who learned a lot about patience in business. What happened was that he had bought them for 38 dollars each, at the time the value of them suddenly dropped and then they went up again until they reached 40 dollars.
When your three shares hit their highest price (so far), Warren Buffet decided to sell them. A move that he would regret, since a short time later they reached $200.
That was a great lesson for him but at no time did it stop him. It was so that at the age of 13 he already had his own newspaper delivery service company. He continued investing and doing small businesses, until at age 17, before finishing high school, he bought his own farm.
